Looking for PERMIT shipmates, stumbled across your reunion page....found one of your sailors on my reunion list...found another ex-PERMIT sailor, but you haven't found him yet... Your pages are very well done. I'd also like to take this opportunity to announce I am trying to find PERMIT sailors for a reunion in S.F. in 1998. Http://users.aol.com/ssn594/reunion.htm |

I served aboard the Queenfish from '76 to '78. I was a sonarman - STS2/SS. It saddens me to read about the passing of Captain Daughters. He made a big impression on my life because of his American Indian background and his advancement in the Navy. His success in the Navy impressed upon me that: Anything is possible, if you put your mind to it. Back in '78, he and I had talks about my future within and outside of the Navy. In June of '78, I decided to leave the Navy. In July, Captain Daughters sent me a letter announcing my promotion to First Class, effective September '78 and asking me to return to the Navy.(I still have the letter) But, I had already started college was now determine to earn a degree. However, Capt. Daughters was a driving force in me to complete my college education. I successfully earned my degree in Information Systems(University of Nevada, Las Vegas). I now work as a Telecom Manager, responsible for both voice and data traffic for a nationwide company. I have the Queenfish and especially Captain Milo P. Daughters to thank. Great web page and I hope to see everyone at the next reunion. ...Tauoa |

I did not serve aboard the QUEENFISH, however I did srve aboard four submarines. Thefirst one was the USS SCAMP (SSN-588), from which I earned my DOLPHINS. After that I served aboard two FBM's The USS ANDREW JACKSON (SSBN-619 and the USS U. S. GRANT (SSBN-631). My last submarine was USS SANTA FE (SSN-763), but even with the technology of the new boats you can't beat the old boats! Keep up teh good work!!! |

Great page. People always ask what the attraction of boats was and is. I always tell them where else could a young kid get control of a true killer that costs millions and get paid for it. I guess that wouldn't pass the P/C test requirements for today!? |

Just checking out the dreambook. Looks like I haven't missed any of the updates you cc'd to me. As usual, the Queenpage is looking great and the innovative new features are getting better all the time. Swapped a message with Don Shelton at the USS Ray website the other day; another good page, but looks like you've got the leading edge Uffie. Shirley talks with Sharon quite frequently. Sounds like she's doing fine in her new condo. Talk with you later. Have a happy Easter. Dick & Shirley |

I didn't serve aboard the fine boat Queenfish. I did however serve on USS Seawolf (575) and USS Pintado (672). While I was on Pintado I met a MMC who had been on Queenfish named David Husic. I noticed that he is on your roster but listed as not located. He is currently at Naval Nuclear Power School as an instructor/section advisor. He always spoke nothing but praise for your fine submarine. I believe he would be thrilled to hear about the reunion. |

I'm a Radioman onboard the USS Boise (SSN-764). A Far cry from the Queenfish, commissioned in '94. I've been searching for a bunch of good links on subs to add to my webpage, and this one will surely be on it. Great job in showcasing to the world a little bit of information about what we do, where we go, and what its like. |

I have some extra copies of the decom paper from Pearl Harbor if anyone is interested. It's from the "Dolphin" paper. Hey Ensign Campbell if you read this you got my address now. Great Web Page!! My daughter & I are building a 1:96 Scale Sturgeon R/C Sub. We wanted to model it after the Queenfish, but until now were unable to find out much info on her. If anyone has photos that might give us details on the upper hull and sail, they would be greatly appreciated. We just moved to DE so it was also interesting to see the picture of the "DE Guys" in the SUBICEX70 album. You've done a great job, we'll be back to this page often. Daryl |
